About

Dan Bristow, M.D., specializes in general adult psychiatry and telepsychiatry and is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Because every client’s situation is unique, he works together with the client to find the right diagnosis and treatment plan for better health.

He combines medication management with psychotherapy (talk therapy) to address the individual needs of the client as efficiently as possible. Some mental health conditions can effectively be treated without medications using psychotherapy alone, so Dr. Bristow also offers a range of evidence-based psychotherapies including cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, interpersonal therapy, supportive therapy, grief therapy, exposure response prevention, trauma-focused therapy, mindfulness-based stress reduction, and motivational interviewing.

Telepsychiatry conveniently brings psychiatric care directly to the client through secure and HIPAA-compliant video teleconferencing. Multiple research studies have found telepsychiatry to be as effective as in-person care for a wide range of mental health conditions. However, telepsychiatry is not necessarily effective for every client or their unique condition. If a client’s individual case is not appropriate for telepsychiatry treatment, Dr. Bristow will advise the client on alternate treatment options.
